The working group “Pre-treatment and anaerobic digestion of saline water” aims at bringing together academia and industry experts on anaerobic wastewater treatment. Thus, sharing new developments in the sector and promoting discussion on the best ways to optimize these biological processes. This working group addresses all aspects from wastewater pre-treatment to biogas production. Specifically, discussion on how to treat and valorize highly saline wastewater which also contains considerable amounts of organic matter will be encouraged.

Joana Cassidy (PhD) is an experienced researcher with a demonstrated international history of working in higher education and industry related projects. Skilled in Sustainable Development, Wastewater Treatment (especially anaerobic treatment) and Water Quality.
